INSTALLATION OF THE KELSO LADDIE

Wednesday 17th July 2024
K​elso Square 6.30pm

​(Conveners: Ex-Kelso Laddie Murray Playfair and Mrs Deborah Young)

Kelso Pipe Band will play in The Square from 6
pm – 6.30pm
Ceremonial music provided by the Jedforest Instrumental Band
and piper Alan Veitch.

 

**PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE IN TIME THIS YEAR**

Master of Ceremonies, Dawn Hinnigan will introduce the visitors from neighbouring towns, the Platform Party, the Colour Bussers and the Ex-Kelso Laddies.


After each young Lady Busser has been escorted to her place by an Ex-Laddie,

the Chair is taken by Kelso Provost, Gavin Horsburgh.


The Kelso Standard is brought to the platform by Mark Henderson (Kelso Laddie 2019).
The Right and Left Hand Men, Callum Davidson and Andrew Thomson will be invested with their Ceremonial Sashes by Kelso Provost Gavin Horsburgh.


The Provost will entrust the Kelso Burgh Standard to the Kelso Laddie ..
and declares the words of the Burgh Motto, “Dae Richt Fear Nocht”.


The Laddie descends from the platform carrying the

Standard to the tune "Gallant Cheils O' Kelsae".


The standard will be bussed by the four young ladies

appointed to the duty, who this year are:


Sophie Frame & Ruby Thompson from Edenside Primary
and Bella McNulty & Robyn Blackwood from Broomlands Primary,
to the accompaniment of the tune ‘Bonnie Kelsae Toon’.
The Kelso Laddie’s Reel concludes the ceremony.

Patrons are respectfully asked to observe that a block of seats in the

Square are reserved for visitors from other Border towns.
​Apart from this reservation, seats will be available from 6p.m. to all ticket holders.
It is regretted that seats can not be provided for

any persons who do not hold tickets.

By becoming a Patron, you receive a ticket for the seating.
